The precordial movements in adults with pulmonic stenosis.

چکیده
were applied to the patients with pulmonic stenosis. These provided a measure of the magnitude of atrial movements and relative amplitude and duration of movements associated with ventricular systole. Twenty-two patients had abnormal ventricular systolic movements by these criteria. These increased systolic movements are attributed to right ventricular overload. However, the location of these movements was frequently in areas generally considered as reflecting left ventricular activity. Possible explanations for this apparent paradox are discussed. There was a predictable relation between the motions associated with atrial contraction and the right ventricular pressure.

Congenital pulmonic stenosis in a 77-year-old woman successfully treated with percutaneous balloon valvuloplasty.
Congenital pulmonic stenosis (PS) rarely presents in patients over the age of 55 years. A stable asymptomatic course into late adulthood is the usual history of mild to moderate PS. Balloon valvuloplasty has become the procedure of choice for congenital PS, especially in children and young adults. There are rare reports of its use in older adults. Significant valve calcium is believed to limit ...
متن کاملAtrial flutter associated with isolated pulmonic stenosis.
Two adults with severe pulmonic valvular stenosis and atrial flutter are presented. This arrhythmia is apparently a rare complication of this particular form of congenital heart disease. In both cases surgical correction was achieved with the aid of total body perfusion. At the time of surgery, significant tricuspid insufficiency was discovered in both cases. Although the tricuspid valve was no...

Heart murmurs are a common finding during physical examination of children but most of them are innocent or normal.recognizing the etiology of heart murmurs can help us in differential diagnosis of them.the peresent study was undertaken to determine the prevalence and etiology of heart murmurs in 4761 school children.the sex ratio was nearly 1:1 ,murmurs were heard in 459 students (9.64%) with...
متن کاملThe Electrocardiogram in Congenital Heart Disease A Preliminary
Adequate unipolar electrocardiograms have been recorded on 101 patients with congenital heart disease and the findings analyzed. It has been found that the chief value of such tracings rests in the determination of ventricular preponderance, the evidence being obtained from study of the QRS complexes in unipolar limb and multiple precordial leads, with relatively little help from the RS-T segme...
